As some may have noticed the website changed a few times during the last few days and will continue to in the next few days/weeks. I am currently working on reorganization the structure of the website to provide more and more information about UMM and Team UMX.

Update (15th March 2010): Ok it took me a few more days but the About category including information about UMM, a Frequently Asked Questions section and a page providing information about the team is available now. Make sure to check it out and let us know what you like and what information you still miss. Thanks.

Update (9th March 2010): I have finished the new Download page. Everyone can download our latest builds and releases from there. If anything doesn’t work or if you have an idea to improve the page further please leave a comment.

Currently I’m planning on getting the following structure:

Home

About

What is UMM?

Features

The Team

F.A.Q.

Downloads

Support

Forum

Wiki

Chat (IRC)

Bug Tracker

Donate

The “Home” and “Donate” page will stay the way they already are. I have also adjusted the “Support” page and all of it’s sub-pages. The “About” part still has to be done so stay tuned and check for new updates in the next week or two. Maybe there will be a few other pages with guidelines on how to properly report a bug or hand in a feature request but we haven’t decided yet if this will just be a Wiki article or an actual page on this website.

Until yesterday only registered users which signed up for the pre-alpha testing builds were able to download our latest builds. Yesterday we decided to get rid of this restriction and made the builds available to all users which have an account on teamumx.org (every tester which signed up before yesterday has been given the special rank “Official Tester” to express our gratitude). So if you are interested in seeing what we have accomplished so far visit the following URL and look for the thread with the latest builds:

Forum > Testing > Pre-Alpha

Looking for the latest version?
Pre-compiled builds are available in the Bleeding Edge Builds thread.

Attention: For those who consider testing our builds please keep in mind that these are very early builds which can result in crashes. Until now our testing possibilities are mainly limited to Windows and a few tests on Ubuntu so do not test this on your real media files. If you do so nonetheless we can not guarantee that everything works fine.

In addition, full debug logging is enabled, which will slow things down. This can be turned off in the configuration, but please enable it if you are reporting an issue so we can determine what the cause is.

Bug reports:
If you run into a bug visit the board posted above and check if anyone else has already reported it. If so maybe you can provide some additional information which will help us track down the exact problem. If the bug you encountered hasn’t been reported yet please create a new thread. Please use a meaningful thread title using the following pattern: [Build XXX] <What is the problem>. Please try to provide as much information as possible. For more details please read the following threads before posting a bug:
Bug report example
How to provide debug logs

Feature requests:
If you feel like there is something missing in UMM or if you have a brilliant idea let us know. There is a dedicated board in our forum where you can post your ideas (one thread for every idea please) which you can find here: Forum > Announcements and General Discussions > Feature Requests

Last but not least we would like to encourage you to post any ideas and/or problems. Also let us know if something works. If everyone tests our builds but doesn’t provide any feedback because they didn’t find any errors we don’t know the reason for not getting any feedback.

Welcome to the new website of Team UMX. This website is brand new and under heavy construction. Although you can’t see any actual content right now (besides the forum where all the action is going on) we are working hard on providing some basic information here.

If you don’t have an account here already please go ahead and register. Make sure to check out the forum as there is a lot going on over there.

IMPORTANT notice for all existing users:

Make use of the “I forgot my password” functionality of phpBB and let it send you a new password to the email address you provided

Check your email inbox and come back with the auto-generated password and log in

Go to the User Control Panel and change your password to something you can remember
